ALERT is born to nurture and deepen legal literacy among the common people, more particularly the vulnerable sections of the populace, with an aim to strengthening their constitutional and social status vis-à-vis human rights, enshrined in the Constitution and various legislations, through informed choices that determine their lives and livelihoods. ALERT is a no-profit, non-denominational society registered as per law in the state of Andhra Pradesh. ALERT’s vision of creating a vibrant and harmonious society revolves around the idea that a legally conscious person contributes to greater cohesion of the society than those with no legal awareness.

ALERT believes in a vibrant society wherein the people are not only better informed but also exhibit greater legal awareness. Socio-cultural activities and community development programmes are the other means to achieve the goal of a harmonious society. ALERT plans, executes, co-ordinates, establishes linkages to advance the cause of social empowerment through legal literacy.
